What do the new passes mean?

Shobukan Inyo-Ryu was founded by our Soke Hans-Jürgen Eul to combine several martial arts and develop our own concepts. Besides Shobukan Inyo-Ryu Battojutsu, our art of sword drawing, there are other martial arts under the umbrella of the style: Jujutsu-Do, Ninjutsu, Karate, Women's Self-Defense, as well as other weapon disciplines like Tantojutsu.

To record the respective graduations and thus the achievements of students and trainers, a unified Budo Pass makes perfect sense. In the future, this pass will be the primary registration point for Shobukan Inyo-Ryu, but beyond that, we remain in contact with other associations that also recognize the style and where an additional entry is possible.

So, the new passes serve several functions directly:

  • Collection and proof of all ranks, seminars, championships, or special achievements in your Budo career
  • Proof of these achievements externally
  • Overview of the structure and possibilities of the style

Reach of the Passes

If you now think, "For just a few locations, we don't need passes"—we are more widespread than you might think at first glance. Shobukan Inyo-Ryu exists in France, in Switzerland, in Brazil, and everywhere where our members are represented globally.

The principle of a "Ryu" is martial art and skill passed from master to student. So we grow with everyone who wants to learn. And precisely because the structures and organization behind it are constantly changing, a pass as a constant is so important and good.

We Are the First

It's really great that we are introducing the new passes as the first branch. Battojutsu is leading the way, and other exciting additions are already planned: Tantojutsu could come to us to professionalize our knife techniques, but also other weapon styles.

This way, we take an active role in co-designing things—just as it should be. :-) However, this also means that changes may still occur during the year, for example, an embossed version. But you won't have to buy new passes constantly.

And How Do I Get My Pass Now?
